Our Approach

Our project philosophy.

Projects are more than events — they are carefully designed interventions that respond to real community needs.

Each initiative begins with listening to the people we serve, understanding local challenges, and working alongside community leaders to implement solutions that are relevant, sustainable, and impactful.

Our projects are driven by collaboration, accountability, and a commitment to lasting change.

Ongoing project

Help us build hope,
one book at a time.

We are collecting textbooks and storybooks to start a library at the House of Refuge — our home for displaced widows, their children, and orphans. Once established, we plan to replicate the library in other states.

New or gently used books are welcome.

Textbooks

For school-going children from primary to college level. All subjects are welcome.

Storybooks

Children's storybooks, moral stories, picture books, activity books, dictionaries and encyclopedias.

What your gift does

Opens access to education, brings joy and healing to young hearts, and helps children dream bigger.

Why a library

A shared space for learning, growth, and community at the House of Refuge — and beyond.

House of Refuge Initiative

Providing Shelter. Restoring Hope.

Conflict and insecurity continue to displace widows and their children across Nigeria. To respond to this growing challenge, AOL Foundation established the House of Refuge — a temporary shelter providing displaced widows and their children with safety, dignity, and support while they rebuild their lives. Beyond accommodation, the initiative connects beneficiaries to humanitarian assistance and pathways toward long-term stability.
